When friends don't love those shows, my initial reaction is that they don't understand *me*. You make a good point, though, TV shows (some) are "art." I don't take it personally when someone doesn't love a painting or book the way I do; I just assume it isn't meaningful for them or I chalk it up to their ignorance.
